20ga for trap, skeet, and sporting clays?
Have an option on a beautiful OU 20ga. I am getting beat up by 12ga even with pad and 23/4 Dr eq. But don’t want to buy if there are rules against certain guages in those sports. Suggestions?
There isn’t a problem with using a 20 gauge for any of those sports.
The big consideration is that you won’t be putting as much shot down range, which means that you’ll have to be slightly more accurate. But if you’re getting beat up by a 12 you should definitely get a 20 because if you’re not having fun you won’t shoot very well at all.
